Welcome to my new blog site for traveling to Churchill Manitoba!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my new blog spot! I will be making posts about my travels to Churchill Manitoba starting Monday Nov. 7, 2016. For now, this is just a test.

Here is my painting of a polar bear.

Did you know the rust/red color on the fur of a polar bear is the oil from the seal they have been eating? Normally, they clean themselves after eating by rolling in the snow.

  2. I have had fun checking out Churchill on Google Earth. There are great names for the motels there: bear's den b & b, iceberg inn, Aurora motel. Great that you have a couple of extra days to see the Eskimo museum. The Aurora borealis are supposed to be great the next few days according to the weather channel. Maybe you will find out what the weirs are for on the Churchill River? Interesting that there is a marina on the river and a two level viewing stand. I'll cross my fingers that you will have an extra treat of seeing beluga whales! Are there salmon in Hudson Bay?

  3. There is a Strait at the northern end of Hudson Bay named after Norman or Walter McClintock!
